Biography of Dr. Kwang Ya Wang
Dr. Wang was born in 1922 in Henan Province in Mainland China but later he graduated from Asia University of Japan. He was awarded an honorary doctoral degree in Education from United University of America and an honorary doctoral degree in Management from Chong Ju University. Over the years, Dr. Wang has been a professor, a school principal, and a school founder. Seeing the scarcity of accountants in 1947, Dr Wang founded Yu Da Accounting School in Taipei in 1949. In 1953, Dr. Wang reformed Yu Da Accounting School which was the birth of Yu Da Vocational Business School in Taipei. In 1957, evening classes were started in order to provide higher education to those students who could not attend day school due to job related obligations. After the success of the Taipei Yuda, Dr Wang set out to establish Chungli Taoyuan Yuda in 1956. In 2002, the school name was shortened to Taoyuan Yu Da High School. During the years with peak enrollments, the two schools combined more than 20,000 students, which is one of the largest senior vocational high schools in the world. The total number of graduates from these two schools has exceeded 250,000. Dr. Wang dedication to provide education services is not only limited to Taipei and Taoyuan. In 1974, Yu Da Kindergarten was founded to provide child day care for working mothers with Preschool children. In 1999, Dr. Wang founded Yu Da College of Business in Miaoli, Dr. Wang explicit love for education is not only restricted to Taiwan either. In 1991, Dr. Wang founded Inner Mongolian Finance and Language Institute in Inner Mongolia, China. In 1994, he founded Sheng Da University in Henan Province, China, and in 1999, he founded Yu Da Higher Vocational School in Beijing. In 2004, Dr. Wang founded another college, Cheng Gong College, in Henan Province. Dr. Wang lifetime contribution to education has been published in dozens of magazines and articles. He also received recognitions from the governments of Inner Mongolia, Korea, and the United Nations. And lastly, in 2001 the Chinese Association for the Advancement of Private Education granted him the title of Education Industry Expert.
